Two Hard Edges

Two lines to two hard edges!

It’s a hard-edge painting!

A hard-edge painting with a conceptual base.

I used a protractor, blue painter’s tape, and a brush!

I painted on a clayboard. The feel of the acrylic paint on the board is so smooth! The color so vibrant!

I am happy with it (minor problems with measurement and taping aside).

The movement is there. The orange-green-yellow triad is resounding strongly. The meeting of color at the edges is exciting. The process was satisfying.

It is so exciting to me that a small painting is begetting variations and motivating me in a new direction. A big thank you to the unknown Greek sculptor who created a lovely image so long ago. I knew there was a reason to keep, in a box full of “stuff” brimming with potential for all these years, a copy of this sculpture of a woman walking!

While I am sorry that this photo does not capture the reasons for all my enthusiasm (color quality is off), I hope my words did a better job.
