YOG + Complementary Color + Bison + Blue

While waiting for paint to dry on two other works, I decide to do a small cut and paste.

YOG + Complemetary Color + Bison + Blue
Work in Progress

After choosing some yellow, orange, and green pieces, I begin playing around with adding blues. Sizing the blues’ effects on the YOG triad. My reaction to the blues soon switches from noting color interactions to seeing the horizontal grid as a storyboard. The blues become space and time and then switch to evoking varying depths of water. The water reflecting the sky. Blue as both sky and water. Imagining while I simultaneously continue to rearrange the color pieces.  The story line zeroing in on the sky, land, and wildlife of Yellowstone where I had recently visited. Bison slowly roaming into the image in my mind as I hesitantly move pieces into and out of their…wallows. Imagination face to face with the color strips contributing to a story. Characterizing a grand memory. As my eyes travel across the band of color in which blues preside, they dip into the deep wide blue. The End.

I refocus. I’m all business. I see I must add the complementary colors red and violet to pop the greens and yellows in alliance with and in all respect to bison and blues.
