How happy was I when my keyboard instructor suggested one of his friends might be interested in playing and recording my music. Really?! Then it happened!! My recent score for piano was played by a real person, a human!, not Musescore electronics! AND recorded as a demo. My world froze in amazement, excitement, astonishment. On first hearing Lay of the Land played so thoughtfully and beautifully by Logan Vrankovic, my emotions went crazy. I was in shock. It took me days to digest my journey to this point.
Three plus years ago when I began learning keyboard, it never entered my mind that someone, an accomplished pianist, would play one of my scores. That I would find a creative home in composing music! Hand issues prevent me from playing my music from beginning to the last measure. And hand issues make it too difficult to hand write my music. Musescore has been a tremendous aid (if frustrating at moments).
But how much better to hear my music played by a person! Next goal: to hear a live performance!
One of my art projects is creating collages on used paperback pages. Landscapes! Lay of the Land! Art and music!
Listen to this lovely demo of Lay of the Land as your eyes wander over the cut and pasted paper collages.
