Hard to Soft

A lot of ideas, feelings, and images keep me company as I work. Recently, one of those ideas wiggled its way past the others and firmly called for a softer, warmer statement rather than the geometric shapes and hard angles I had been working with. Keeping the grid, and keeping things simple, I settled on an embryonic shape and softer color.

  1. I like it! Although I think of beans, but I guess those could be considered embryonic.

    1. So glad thinking of beans didn’t stop you from liking it! I described the shapes as embryonic in that, since they are simple shapes, they hold the potential for further development/growth…they are ok with me as is.

  2. They’re friendly…but not cutesy.

    1. Curved lines can communicate a certain friendliness, warmth, softness, etc. Curved lines versus straight lines…definitely worth playing around with their emotional expressiveness.
